SLT with Corsica Ferries and Forship in the signing of a bareboat charter party with purchase option concerning M/V Mariella (now M/V Mega Regina).

Studio Turci, in the persons of Paolo Turci and Antonella Turci (partners) and Federico Remorino (associate) assisted Corsica Ferries in the signing of a bareboat charter agreement with purchase option for the Finnish-flagged M/V Mariella.

The Firm has also assisted the parties in implementing the contractual agreements and in the part that provided for the registration of the ship under the Italian International Register and the appointment of Forship as disponent owner in charge of the actual management of the line service.

The operation allows the enlargement of the company’s fleet and of the commercial offer of the group known under the Corsica and Sardinia Ferries brands, in view of the recovery of maritime passenger traffic, which is already taking place starting from this summer season.

The ship (now renamed Mega Regina) has a capacity of 2,500 passengers and 1,000 linear meters of rolling stock, as well as filters to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions, which re reduced by 60%. The ship is also already equipped for power supply from the docks and will have the lowest fuel consumption per cargo carried in the entire fleet.

The registered Owner, the Finnish company Viking Line ABP, was assisted by a team from the law firm Watson Farley & Williams, led by Michele Autuori, partner in the Shipping department, assisted by associates Beatrice D’Amato, Sergio Napolitano and Noemi D’Alessio as well as by Nordisk Legal Services in the person of Camilla Bråfelt.
